snow time

So we've certainly had our share of snow this winter having our first flurry in November,  December and January were set to be cold, very cold and with ample snow, perfect weather for house-boat virgins. 

As pretty as it is it certainly tested our survival skills; building fires, chopping wood, keeping the water tanks full, not blowing the electrics and minimising leaks, yes apparently all wooden boats leak! But after running out of water half way through a shower, blowing the fuse whilst blow drying my hair, running across the yard in my dressing gown to fix the fuse, one trip to a&e with a nearly severed thumb and getting used to the sound of the bilge pumps regularly going off (there were a few sleepless nights) I think we are well on our way to getting used to the practicalities of living on a boat.
